Hello, I have two female finches. One of them has been laying eggs for the past week or so, laying about seven or eight eggs total. She spends most of her time in the nest I’ve built for her in the cage and rarely leaves it. To feed or drink water. She is making the sound she makes before laying an egg—a lot of groans. I’m mostly giving her seeds, fruit, and vegetables, and there’s a mineral block in the cage. Is there any way I can stop her from laying these eggs? Should I remove the nest or the infertile eggs?
