s0nicfan 10 years ago Hermes was a greek god, often considered the “messenger of the gods” who could travel freely between realms quite quickly. Hes often shown with a winged cap and shoes (a design that has been re-used in everything from Captain America to the Flash to Thor to represent speed or agility). The quote is more or less a reference to Alucard intentionally gimping his own abilities (via the restriction system) to become “tamed” to fight alongside the organization. Much in the way Hermes would be “tamed” if you clipped his wings (and thus his ability to travel), or a bird would be tamed by clipping its feathers so it couldnt fly away”History Is Much Like An Endless Waltz. laery88 (Topic Creator)10 years ago Whats the restriction system? I confess I only know Hellsing through the OVAs which I havent seen in years, they just took way too long to release them and I lost interest. |

Hmm… maybe that was a byproduct of the anime, but it was more or less Alucard not using his full power unless instructed by Integra to do so. If that was anime-only the basic idea still applies in that Alucard only fights as hard as ordered to (I guess he and Samus have a lot in common), which is still intentionally gimping his abilities.”History Is Much Like An Endless Waltz. Take a good look at what website youre posting in. Were lucky people here even know how to type, let alone think.”Within this edifice dwells insight; amidst its halls stirs truth. Yet we remain trapped by the structure called the mind.” ~Aeiou Vrofbugh Mnjwpykt |

TheBlackCat13 10 years ago It doesnt seem like he has to be explicitly instructed to use his powers, as long as he recognizes the vampire as a “class A vampire” he can unlock his full power without explicit permission. Which I think goes back to the whole “voluntarily restricting his powers” thing.Man Is The Lowest Cost, 150 Pound, Nonlinear, All-purpose Computer System Which Can Be Mass Produced By Unskilled Labor — NASA |
