what is the bird from up called

Background[]

Kevin has a strong personality even though he is mute. She is, like most animals, friendly to people who have shown her kindness, but when she feels threatened, she will become hostile. She openly attempted to attack Dug, pinning him down and growling at him as her feathers flew up in agitation. She also screeched at Carl Fredricksen when they first met. She can, however, be playful and loving; for example, she will softly toss Russell into the air and give him a tender hug, or she will imitate Carl when he tries to shoo her away. She also tried eating Carl’s cane and balloons, demonstrating her curiosity. Strangely, she also has a taste for chocolate.

Dug’s Special Mission[]

Kevin appears in Dugs short as a supporting character.

Appearances[]

Charles F. Smith described as “a giant bird of the species that Muntz has been looking for the rare and elusive bird as a promise for many years after scientists claim that the skeleton he revealed was not the real skeleton of the “monster of Paradise Falls” (even though the monster exists). Nonetheless, Kevin avoided being apprehended for an indeterminate period of time because her residence is located in a maze that Muntz is afraid to venture into and where several of his dogs have become lost.

When Russell discovers the bird along the route, he names it “Kevin” right away, but it later turns out that Kevin is actually a female. Russell continues to refer to her as Kevin after that.

It appears that Kevin enjoys chocolate as well because she is constantly attempting to bite into Russell’s chocolate bar and can be seduced with chocolate (a joke that repeats throughout the movie). Carl and Russell were able to save her and flee from Charles Muntz before he could capture her when Muntz and his dogs discovered that Carl and Russell were with Kevin, the rare bird Muntz had to capture. They captured her and placed her in a sizable cage inside the Spirit of Adventure dirigible.

By the time the film ends, Kevin and her three children have reunited, and Carl has given them his cane as a gift. Carl and Russell then depart Paradise Falls, bidding adieu to Kevin and her children.

Kevin makes very brief appearances in this short. When Dug sees the bird being chased, she initially witnesses Muntz’s dogs chasing her. Following Dug’s introduction, the three dogs chastise him for preventing them from apprehending Kevin, and Alpha assigns Dug a unique task to apprehend Kevin by himself. Subsequently, Dug is asked by Alpha to keep an eye on the boulder that Kevin is passing through, making sure it doesn’t roll down the hill. However, Dug unintentionally allows a pebble to roll into the boulder that Kevin was going to pass through, causing it to roll down the hill and thwart the three dogs’ plans.

Dug descends the hole and lands on the dogs, causing them to lose the bird once more. Alpha orders Dug to stay in the hole so that he could keep an eye out for Kevin. Alpha, Beta, and Gamma see Kevin from a distance as she flees. As Alpha calls Muntz, Dug’s numerous attempts to assist in finding and apprehending Kevin only serve to thwart their efforts. As a result, the three dogs are unable to apprehend Kevin. She is mentioned multiple times in this short film, but her appearances are fleeting.

Similar to Muntz, Kevin is absent from the film because of the sequence of shorts that take place after its events; however, she and her children do appear as a decoration in Carl’s new house.
