Hi everyone I’m new to this forum, this year I have decided to get a window bird feeder for my bedroom window. I used to face the main road and I didn’t have any joy with any birds coming to my feeder. In late October I moved rooms facing the back Garden. I don’t have any bushes, trees or flowers in my garden and I’m not able to get any either unfortunately.
I admire the wildlife and I think it would be really cool if birds came to my feeder how can I attract birds to come to my feeding station that’s on my window? I live in Greenwich I’ve seen some birds fly around which is what prompted me in the beginning to get food for them.
It could take up to two weeks for the birds to find your window feeder, just like with any new feeder. It might also require more time for them to gain the confidence necessary to learn a new landing technique or feeding strategy.
Make sure your window has been thoroughly cleaned before mounting suction cups to it to avoid any dirt buildup getting in between the cup and the window. Before installing, you can apply rubbing alcohol to the suction cups and let them dry.
With a window bird feeder, you can observe your backyard birds up close like never before! Window bird feeders usually use a suction cup mounting system to allow you to mount them directly to your window. Window bird feeders can enhance your birding experience from the inside out! Depending on what you choose to put in it, a seed or hummingbird window feeder will draw different kinds of birds to your window!
Suction cups will adhere better to a warm surface. Try gently warming your window with a hair dryer or another warming device if you’re installing your window bird feeder on a chilly day outside to help it hold better.
The majority of birds feel at ease approaching buildings to feed. Your geographic location and the plants in your backyard will have a major impact on the kinds of birds you see at your feeder. It’s crucial to choose a window feeder that can hold the kind and size of bird you want to feed. For instance, make sure your window feeder has an aperture big enough for larger birds to feel comfortable feeding in if you want to draw in larger birds like cardinals and jays.
