Bird played in an era that was not nearly as focused on shooting three-pointers. He made just 18 threes during the entire 1983-94 season. Bird still averaged 24.2 points and won his first of three consecutive MVP awards that year.
Despite Bird’s lack of attempts from the arc, he had an efficient shot when he took it. Bird had eight seasons in the top 10 for three-point shooting percentage. He even led the NBA twice in triples.
The most threes that Bird made in a season was 98 in 1986-99. He was fourth in the NBA that year. Green converted 111 three-pointers in 2014-15. He was 47th in the league that season.
On the other side, Green plays in a league that focuses on the three-point shot more than ever. The Warriors have won four championships with Green, as well as Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson who have scored the first and seventh-most three-pointers all-time respectively.
