2. Find a Bird
To find an available Bird nearby, simply open the app. You’ll be taken right away to our service map, which shows you nearby cars, riding zones, and other information.

How to Ride a Bird Scooter
Downloading the Bird app is the first step towards riding a Bird. It takes a few seconds using this link. It will ask you to add a payment method and create an account.

3. Unlock your vehicle
All you have to do is tap the big button in the middle of the service map to unlock a Bird scooter. This will enable you to scan the QR code that is conveniently located at the top of the car by opening the camera on your phone. Also, you can manually enter the code that is alphanumeric and located directly beneath the QR code.
*Pro tip: Using the “Group Ride” button on the service map, you can unlock multiple Birds from a single account. Each rider is required to confirm that they are able to legally ride.
When you first start riding, use your foot to propel yourself forward and then your thumb accelerator to adjust your speed. Using the handbrake will help you slow down and stop.
Similar to cyclists, riders must follow all applicable municipal traffic laws. Riding a Bird is usually limited to designated streets and/or bike lanes in cities.
